When Is the Best Time to Visit the TASC Tulip Festival?
The tulip season typically runs from late April through early May, weather depending. Each week highlights a different stage of the bloom, so there is no wrong time to visit — just different experience
Opening Week — Longest Lasting Blooms
Shorter stems with mostly closed buds. Perfect if you want tulips that will last the longest in a vase at home. The fields are quieter and the colour blocks are still filling in.
Mid-Season — Peak Colour and Vibrant Fields
Taller stems with wide-open blooms in the most intense colours. This is when the fields are at their most photogenic. Bouquets from this week are shorter-lived but breathtaking.
Final Week — Unique and Exotic Varieties
Late-blooming varieties bring unusual shapes and rare colours. A favourite for return visitors and flower enthusiasts who want something different.
Weekdays offer a more relaxed atmosphere with fewer crowds — ideal for photography, couples, and anyone looking for a quieter experience. Weekends bring full festival energy with food trucks, pop-up activities, and the buzz of families and groups.
