Food, Wine, and Festival Energy

On-site food vendors serve everything from wood-fired meals to vegan bites and fresh snacks. Select tickets include wine tasting — because tulips and wine make a great pairing. You’re also welcome to bring your own food and drinks.

Photo Spots Everywhere You Look

55 acres of colour means you won’t run out of backdrops. Families, couples, maternity shoots, engagements — the fields are wide open. Professional photographers can access designated areas on select evenings (Monday–Wednesday). Drones are not permitted.

When Is the Best Time to Visit from Toronto?

The festival runs from late April through approximately May 11th, weather permitting. Each week highlights a different stage of the bloom, so there’s no single “perfect” day — every visit offers something different.

Opening Week — Longest Lasting Blooms

The earliest varieties are built to last. These tulips hold their shape and colour longer, making opening week ideal if you want blooms that will stay fresh at home for days.

Mid-Season — Peak Colour and Vibrant Fields

This is when the fields are at their most dramatic. Rows of red, gold, pink, and purple stretch in every direction. If you’re coming from Toronto for photos, this is the sweet spot.

Final Week — Unique and Exotic Varieties

Fringed, parrot, and specialty tulips steal the show in the final stretch. These late bloomers are the most unusual and often the most photogenic. Worth the drive even if you’ve already visited.

Weekdays are quieter and more relaxed. If you can take a day off work, the experience is noticeably different — fewer crowds, more space, and a calmer atmosphere across the fields. Dogs are also welcome Monday through Friday.
